Tom van de Beek
undisputedly serves as the ruling Chief of Butch & Sundance Village. As a graduated communication-expert, Tom has lend his hand to nearly uncountable projects, campaigns and mediaproductions.While in the office, Tom serves as a collaborator and advisor to some of the most cutting-edge initiatives on climate change and development. While on the road, Tom’s main role is to translate stories to visually attrractive film and photography. The main expertise he brings along is his knowledge of climate change and sustainable living.

Klaas van Dijken is ordained the first Sheriff of Butch & Sundance and, as our first full-time worker, manages many of our current and upcoming projects. Klaas brings to the table a wealth of experience as a writing journalist for newspapers and magazines. Lately Klaas has been enhancing and enriching his skills to the field of film and photography. In the office Klaas is connecting to many of our current and future partners and clients. On the road he is hunting for untold stories revolving around conflict & development in, particularly, Africa and the Middle-East.

Ludo Hekman is the company’s own Cowboy, given the fact he’s the only one living outside of the city of Amsterdam - amidst green pastures and fruitfactories in the tiny Dutch village of Tull en 't Waal. Mending cows aside, Ludo mainly hunts for stories of hope amidst conflict in countries such as Iran, Pakistan and the UAE. He also teaches philosophy, a field in which he holds a degree. His expertise is political philosophy, world affairs and globalisation. When in the office, Ludo is researching, developing concepts and writing for many of the venture’s projects and mediaproductions.

Karel Smouter firmly upholds his reputation as the venture’s Notorious Outlaw. Trained as a philosopher and educated in the field of development, he has been connecting people and pioneering projects for the last 10 years. His work experience ranges from festivalorganisation to creative campaigning and from creative writing to churchinnovation. When in the office, Karel is pushing new projects and tracking trends and developments. When on the road, he coordinates and contributes to both research and writing. His expertise mainly lies in international politics, cultural philosophy and the Middle East Region.
